Itinerary

Day 1: Guwahati to Kaziranga

Arrive at Guwahati and drive to Kaziranga (about 5 hours). Evening at leisure.

Day 2: Kaziranga safaris

Early elephant safari (in season), then a jeep safari in one of the park's zones. Afternoon tea-estate visit.

Day 3: Kaziranga to Shillong

Drive to Shillong via Umiam Lake.

Day 4: Cherrapunji

Day in Cherrapunji: Seven Sisters Falls, Nohkalikai Falls and Mawsmai cave.

Day 5: Mawlynnong and Dawki

Mawlynnong village, the Riwai root bridge and Dawki river boating. Back to Shillong.

Day 6: Shillong to Guwahati

Drive to Guwahati; Kamakhya temple and an evening by the Brahmaputra.

Day 7: Fly home

Transfer to Guwahati airport.

Season

Kaziranga is open from about October to May. It closes to tourists during the monsoon, so this package runs between November and April for the best wildlife viewing.
