Documents to prepare

  • Form 14A, fully completed and signed.32
  • One recent colour passport photo taken within the last 3 months, following ICA photo guidelines (the New Delhi mission specifies 35 mm x 45 mm, white background).32
  • Copy of your passport biodata page (the Chennai Consulate also asks for the last page). The passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry.12
  • Form V39A (Letter of Introduction from a local contact) may be asked for case by case.32
  • Documents not in English need an official translation.32
  • At entry: enough cash for your stay and proof of onward travel.4

Before you fly and on arrival

  • SG Arrival Card (SGAC) with electronic health declaration: submit within 3 days before arrival (including the day of arrival) via the ICA e-Service (eservices.ica.gov.sg/sgarrivalcard) or the MyICA app. It is free. Travellers who do not submit it may be denied entry.45
  • You get an electronic visit pass (e-Pass) by email on arrival; there is no stamp in your passport.3
  • Your biometrics (fingerprints, face and iris) are taken at immigration clearance.4
  • A visa does not guarantee entry. ICA officers decide entry and the length of stay at the checkpoint.17

Applying from Kerala

  • You cannot apply directly at the mission. Apply through an Authorised Visa Agent. Neither the New Delhi list nor the Chennai list shows an agent located in Kerala; the Chennai list covers agents in Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.169
  • Alternatively, a local contact in Singapore (Singapore citizen or PR, 21 or older, with Singpass) can submit your application online.12
  • Apply within 30 days before your trip. The Chennai Consulate advises at least one week ahead in the off-peak season and two to four weeks ahead in the peak season (March to May).7

Extending your stay

  • To stay longer, apply online for an extension of your short-term visit pass when it has 14 days or less left. Walk-ins are not accepted. ICA decides the length, if any.10
  • The visa's validity itself cannot be extended; you must make a fresh application.7
  • Stays under the 96-hour Visa-Free Transit Facility cannot be extended.8
  • Do not stay beyond your visit pass validity, which is different from your visa validity.4
