Itinerary

Day 1: Bagdogra to Gangtok

Arrive at Bagdogra and drive up the Teesta valley to Gangtok (about 4–5 hours). Evening free on MG Marg.

Day 2: Tsomgo Lake excursion

Day trip to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir. On Nathu La open days, the pass can be added (Indian nationals only, permit and weather permitting).

Day 3: Gangtok sightseeing

Rumtek Monastery, Enchey Monastery, Do Drul Chorten, the Ropeway and the Flower Exhibition Centre.

Day 4: Gangtok to Darjeeling via Kalimpong

Drive to Darjeeling, stopping at Kalimpong for Deolo Hill and Durpin Monastery.

Day 5: Tiger Hill and Darjeeling

Early drive to Tiger Hill for sunrise over Kanchenjunga, then Ghoom Monastery, Batasia Loop, the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute and zoo, and a tea estate.

Day 6: Darjeeling leisure or Mirik

Toy-train joy ride (subject to availability) and free time on the Mall, or a half-day trip to Mirik Lake.

Day 7: Darjeeling to Bagdogra

Drive down to Bagdogra for your flight home.
