Lakshadweep at a glance
India's coral islands are closer to Kerala than anywhere else: a daily flight from Kochi reaches Agatti, the islands' only airstrip, in under two hours. Expect lagoons, snorkelling, glass-bottom boats and very quiet beaches.
Entry permit
- Every visitor who is not a native of the islands needs an entry permit, applied for online at epermit.utl.gov.in.
- Since April 2026, tourists no longer need a sponsor or a police clearance certificate. Apply at least 14 days ahead — we do it for you.
- Fees: ₹50 per person plus a heritage fee of ₹200 (adults) or ₹100 (ages 12–18). Read our full Lakshadweep permit guide.
Best time to visit
October to mid-May, when the sea is calm. The monsoon (June to September) can cancel boats and affect flights.
